All I will say is that when Mary Oliver is “good, she is very very good. But when she is bad she is horrid.” She actually reminds me of a character from the poem that we will be reading in that she is quite technically skilled, yet often lacking the vision that comes from love of the “God behind the gods behind the gods” … as the author of our December poem would say. ;)
