Welcome to Reading Revisited, a place for friends to enjoy some good old-fashioned book chat while revisiting the truth, beauty, and goodness we’ve found in our favorite books.
Good Morning Readers!
I am so glad that you are joining us for my favorite day of the Reading Revisited year, Book Drop Day.
What is Book Drop Day you ask? Ah, it is a lovely day: a day filled with books that we will read together at Reading Revisited over the next (school) year. All of our in person and virtual book clubs will be using this list to plan each month’s meeting. So this is not just a random list of good books. These are the books that we will all be reading and thinking through together over the next year as little communities and on the podcast as well. I cannot wait to share all of the books with you
But wait…
Before we get into the books I figured I would explain what you can expect today. Instead of satisfying your curiosity and introducing the whole book list right now we are going to draw out the fun all day! That way you get a chance to get excited about each and every book and are not just overwhelmed by a lot of books you may or may not have heard of.
Or maybe it is just another form of Literary Torture (see our Top 5 question in our podcast episodes)? Maybe it can be fun and torturous at the same time? Maybe I’m helping with delayed gratification? Alas, it will be fun, I promise!
So, what can you expect? Each hour on the hour we will announce one book in the order we will read it throughout the year. Every Book Drop Day Post will include a few things:
A plug from one of our members to join or start a Reading Revisited Book Club (we have in person and virtual options)
An announcement of the book for that month
An explanation of why we chose said book
Links to purchase the book (if you were planning to buy the book new, buying from these links will support us monetarily…please always feel free to use the library or buy the book used or from your local book store!)
A blurb or two from other authors and Substackers about why they love the book we have chosen
A tentative schedule for that book (so you can plan your reading accordingly)
Schedule for the Day

Before I let you go I just wanted to say thank you to all of the people that have helped make Book Drop Day a thing! I was astounded by how many writers on Substack (and elsewhere) said yes when I asked them to participate. They are going to add so much insight into the books and fun into the day! If you enjoy their writing, please click on their links and follow them in order to read their other writing (which is worth reading). One of my favorite aspects of Substack is the community of writers who are so insightful and generous with their time and writing. I also had many Book Club members share their experience with being in our Reading Revisited Book Clubs and I want to say thank you to them as well. Lastly, thank you to all of you, our Substack readers who take time to get excited about books with us. I hope this day is fun and encouraging for you as well!
Until next time, keep revisiting the good books that enrich your life and nourish your soul.
