I read The Rector of Justin last year-found it at a book sale and decided to try it out-and as soon as Sean said that Trust reminded him of it, a lightbulb went off. So enjoyed hearing two of my favorite podcast worlds collide!
Well that was delightful to begin a new episode of one of my favorite podcasts and find The Sean Johnson from my other favorite podcast as guest! Love it!
I just looked it up and it looks really interesting! If you end up reading Trust let me know if it reminds you of it still! It is such a mystery that I'm still over here trying not to say too much.
I just started Trust and I’m only in the first “book,” but the stories seem to be very different. With that said, they both have very similar “mysterious airs” about them. I know with Crossing the Mangrove it takes the whole book to put the pieces together.
Trust has a very Bradbury feel to it. I’m intrigued so far.

From Sean’s description of Trust, the plot feels similar to that of Maryse Condé’s Crossing the Mangrove.

I’m excited to hear what you think as you get into the other parts! Also we’d love to have you at virtual book club at the end of the month!
Oh! I would love that. How do I sign up?
I’ll message you!
